Fees & Payment

Transparent fees. Clear terms.

Every engagement begins with a written fee agreement. No surprises.

How fees work

Criminal defense fees depend on the complexity of the case, the charges involved, and the court where the matter is pending. Federal cases typically require more time and preparation than state cases.

We offer flat fees for many matters and hourly billing for others. During the initial consultation, we will discuss the scope of your case and provide a written estimate of fees.

Trust deposits

For most engagements, we require a trust deposit (also called a retainer) held in a client trust account. Funds are drawn down as work is performed. You receive itemized statements.

  • • Credit & debit cards
  • • Bank transfer (ACH)
  • • Wire transfer
  • • Check
  • • Trust deposit (retainer)

What is not covered

Fees do not include court costs, expert witness fees, investigator fees, or other third-party expenses unless specifically stated in the agreement. We will discuss these costs upfront.
